Fire, friends & Halloween...

November 1, 2017

Last night we were taking another keen explorers to try NIGHT KAYAKING at Clunie Loch, near Blairgowrie & Dunkeld, Perthshire.

As it was a Halloween night we hoped to make it even more special than usually but we didn't expect to see something amazing!

Our kayak trips allowing even new to this activity to enjoy the great outdoors in a safe and fun environment. Night paddling is no different. Our tandem boats allowing participants to sit, relax and enjoy the experience.

Whilst Craig was taking a group of four (yes, we always work with small groups and individual explores) I have set up the fire, Kelly Kettle and prepared some marshmallows to keeps the moods happy after the trip as well :)

Another peaceful night, gentle breeze if at all, moon, bats... Clunie Loch is great at any time of the day and year really...

We were joined by a group of open water swimmers (!). Same as we, they have decided to do something different on this special night.

They have lasted in the waters of the loch for quite some time. Well done ladies! You can follow them on the Instagram as #ladiesoftheloch check it out...

An amazing weather experience taken place that evening - a moonbow !!! Yes, we didn't hear of it before or seen one. It's like a rainbow but at night. Very rare to bee seen, as it needs to be very bright moon, windless, low level with patches of gentle drizzle and clear skies.

How amazing is to be back to Clunie Loch and experience yet something new. The Moonbow had a perfect, grey half circle - starting at the Castle Hill and finishing at the small bridge, exactly opposite side of this 1km long loch. Epic...You can read more about this very rare atmospheric sight here: https://www.timeanddate.com/astronomy/moonbows.html

Another great experience at our doorstep...
