Wildlife kayak safaris in Perthshire

October 5, 2017

Going kayaking in Perthshire is worth it for so many reasons, all year round. You will come across so many animals, often you wouldn't expect, didn't hear of of didn't see for a long time.

We are very fortunate at Outdoor Explore, visiting, kayaking in many places in Tayside. This allowing us to see always changing environments, at different seasons and its amazing wildlife.

For over a year now, we are offering a guided trip with an experts in the field as well, for example collaborating with Daniele from Perthshire Wildlife.  Taking people of trips, focused on visiting places occupied by beavers, often not accessible on foot.

This way we can see and learn more about these creatures which are expanding rapidly in our area.

My favourite one to see is actually a kingfisher. There are so rare and quick... for so many years I have not noticed any of them and then this year...

At one point, spring time, I was fortunate to have four of them, sitting together, less than a metre away, hiding from rain, under same tree I did! See the picture above. Loch Faskally near Pitlochry.

Only yesterday when kayaking down the River Isla near Coupar Angus and Blairgowrie noticing kingfishers over 20 times at many locations! Amazing!

Of course, there is still so much more. Ospreys, sand martins, eagles, salmon, otters, hawks, deer... All them and many more here, in Perthshire. Approach them all with respect, read before when is the best time to enjoy them. Check where to go.

We are happy to help...
